Slightly confused

So I have to admit to being slightly confused when using Blogger. I have this account because this is where I thought about starting my blog but then I decided to actually own a domain. So while I post on my website I don't know how you can be notified here of new posts. Is there  a way to do that? I follow my blogs through blog lovin' so I am not sure how this works.
